
Honor Your Hero: The Flags of Honor Program
A heartfelt tribute brought to you by the Mendham Brush Association (Brothers of the Brush)
Are you looking for a meaningful way to recognize a loved one who has served, or is currently serving, in our armed forces?
We invite you to join our Flags of Honor program. Together, we can line our community with beautiful, custom-made flags that tell the stories of our local heroes and show our deep gratitude for their sacrifices.
A Lasting Tribute in Our Community
Imagine a beautiful, custom-crafted flag flying proudly in the breeze from Memorial Day to Veterans Day.
For a sponsorship of $250, your hero will be celebrated in our community for two full seasons.
At the end of the second season, the flag will be taken down and returned to you to keep, reuse, and cherish for years to come.
What Does the Flag Look Like?
Each flag is a large 30” x 60”, double-sided display made from highly durable, weather-resistant vinyl. Printed over a striking American flag background, your flag will be customized with:
- Your Honoree’s Name & Service Details: Including their branch of service, conflict, and theater.
- A Personal Message: A short dedication such as “In honor of” or “In Memory of”.
- Custom Artwork: You choose the centerpiece!
- Option 1: A high-quality photograph of your hero.
- Option 2: A special commemorative graphic featuring a circle of 13 stars surrounding a Minuteman silhouette, honoring our 250th anniversary.


⏳ Important Deadline Approaching!
To ensure all flags are printed and installed in time for Memorial Day, all orders must be received by March 29th, 2026.
How to Sponsor a Flag Today
Step 1: Prepare Your Honoree’s Photo (If Applicable)
If you are choosing to feature a photo of your hero on the flag, we want to ensure it looks perfect!
- Digital Photos: Please email a high-quality portrait (larger than 1MB) to rich@richschofield.com.
- Physical Photos: Don’t have a digital copy? No problem. Email Rich at the address above to arrange for him to take a high-quality scan of your original physical photo.
Step 2: Submit Your Order & Payment
To secure your flag, please mail a $250 check payable to the Mendham Brush Association, along with a note containing the following information filled out on the following form:
Information to be filled out in the form:
About You: Your Full Name, Address, Phone Number, and Email Address.
About Your Hero: * Honoree’s Name
- Short Flag Message
- Branch of Service
- Conflict & Theater
- Your Image Choice (Custom Photo sent to Rich, or the Minuteman Anniversary Graphic)

DURING THE OFFSEASON, FLAGS WILL BE STORED BY THE MENDHAM BRUSH ASSOCIATION, AT A LOCATION AND IN A MANNER TO PREVENT LOSS OR DAMAGE TO THE FLAGS FOR THE DURATION OF THE TERM
